Projects & Programs

Fish Stocking Program

The Fish Stocking Program began in the 1990’s and in 2025 has been established as NLA’s primary fundraising goal for 2025. Brookfield Renewable Energy has committed to donate $3,000.00 and we are actively fundraising to reach our goal of $6,000.00. Sherri Bartlett Chairs this committee, she has been instrumental in obtaining the NYSDEC stocking permit and working with suppliers to ensure there is available fish for a fall stock. Species being considered are largemouth bass, yellow perch, blue gill, black crappie, and golden shiners.

Youth/Community Art Program

The Youth/Community Art Program was established to encourage our communities & youth through art. Connecting our lake (Raquette River), community, and youth is beneficial for all of us. Working with NNCS Art Club the youth committee is actively working on 2 projects: 1) Repainting the Village of Norwood signs (fall ’25) and 2) A multi-district Art Competition during the ’25-’26 school year culminating with an Art show at the Norwood Municipal Building in April ’26. This program also supports the Arts in our community i.e. The Norwood Village Green Concert Series.
